Just Pray and Pray Some More

This week is a bit of a scary week for me. I don’t even think it is me being scared really. It is just the uncertainty of all that is to come.

I have an appointment this week for my kidneys and what is going on there. I have been doing a lot of praying. I do a lot of praying anyway but this week and leading up to this week has been even more.

We are reading a book in Bible study and this is what I wrote to the ladies this week:

Good Morning Ladies,

We finished up Chapter 8 last week. Talking about how life should be an experiment and not a test. I have never really thought of life as either. However I do know that you can just sit back and do nothing with life. In order to grow in Christ you have to do something. My whole life I have been an out of the box thinker who lives in the box. Risks are a scary thing sometimes. Still since I have been focused on Christ and our relationship, I have been an out of the box thinker who has been living more out of the box than in. Crazy how that happens. Don’t be afraid to do something you would not normally do, He is right there with you.

The last part of the chapter was about finding people who care more about the real you, than the fake perfect you. This morning at 5 AM I woke up out of a dead sleep. I had the urge to open my Bible app on my phone and this is what I saw,

“But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. ~2 Corinthians 12:9

I prayed over that for a while. I did it as my Bible study this morning. When we pretend to have it all together, no one is able to see Christ’s Light shine from us. We are not able to see others doing Christ’s work for us. We have to show our weakness in order for Him to shine! When we pretend to have it all together, we have this fog around us, so His light is there but it just isn’t fully seen. Embrace your weakness ladies, let the fog lift from around you and let His Light shine from you!

Chapter 9 was about a new perspective changing your life. She talks about Matthew 5:48, “Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly father is perfect.”. We always need to be careful to take the Bible in it’s context. Be careful that we ourselves are not being one who is holding others to legalism by misusing Bible passages to harm.

Jesus came to save us, to make us perfect in God’s eyes. He came and He died on the cross, spilling His blood, for us! We will never be able to be perfect on this side of heaven but we can be perfect in pursuing a relationship with Christ. The One who does make us perfect in front of God.

At times it is hard to believe that we are right where we are supposed to be in our faith. We are loved with all of our flaws, sins, and we are perfectly pleasing. Jesus is shaping us each and every day we choose to walk with Him. We have to truly accept we will never be perfect here in order for us to be perfect in Him. Perfection here is taking the steps and the risks to grow in your faith, your relationship with Christ, and admitting where you need to change. It is becoming more mature with Christ holding your hand.

She lists five core elements that need to happen in order for us to change:

1. Growth – it isn’t fast. I am reminded of a flower in the spring. When the snow melts you don’t just wake up one morning and have a garden full of flowers. You watch them start from a sprout up to a fully bloomed flower.
2. Usefulness – ask God what He needs from you today. Each day, each moment, you have the opportunity to be useful to Him.
3. Service – how are we showing others God’s love? Something small to you may be something huge to the person receiving it.
4. Surrender – we can’t complete ourselves. We must surrender everything over to God so He can help and mold us.
5. Time – this is a lifelong journey. It becomes a lot easier when you realize that you have a lifetime to develop and work on all of this.

Be perfect where you are each day with Him. Let Him mold you and turn you into whom He created you to be.

Ladies I love each of you and I am blessed to have you all in my life!

See you tomorrow!

It reminded me of two images I created over the past year:

For me if I am separate from them, I am not growing, the relationship is stagnant and I just am. I don’t focus on the positive. I don’t see happiness. I see the glass half empty instead of half full. It also means, I am not praying.

So many things have changed in my life over the past year. I am thankful for each and every thing and each and every person He has brought into my life. The growth I have had makes me happier. I know I am not alone, even when I am struggling.

It has been cold here the past couple of days. Cold tends to bring out more pain in my body. Pain means less sleep. Less sleep means more stress. More stress means more anxiety. I have coping skills I have learned and there are my Young Living essential oils and my Juice Plus that get upped and used much more.

However I have been so focused on prayer the past few days that even though I have the increased pain, less sleep, more stress and more anxiety I have a calm. There are some major medical things going on in our family. My appointment this week. Bella’s appointment this week. Testing going on this week. Birthdays going on (Bell turned 9 yesterday and I am a bad mom when it comes to parties. Then add the holiday to it and she usually gets skipped over).

Both last night and this morning there was just a peace.

Things can be crazy. Things can be scary. Things can be painful. Yet, just pray. Reach out, find the Light, know that you are not alone and you will find a peace.

Are you dealing with anything right now? Do you need me to just pray for you because you can’t?
